Productive results of winner projects in joint programme of SRNSFG and Jülich Research Centre

Winners of joint programme between SRNSFG and Jülich centre (Forschungszentrum Jülich) successfully completed grant and got their Master’s and PhD degrees. Elene Iordanisghvili Winner of 2014 grant call; Student of Georgian Technical University (GTU); PhD programme –Engineering Physics. Thesis: Developing new methods for researching traumatic injuries of encephalon. PIs: GTU Prof. Ketevan Kotetishvili, Jülich – Director General of neuro-medicine and medicine institute, Prof. Dr. N. J. Shah. Became PhD of Engineering Physics’.  Currently working in Jülich from 2015.   Ana Gogishvili Winner of 2017 grant call; Student of Georgian Technical University (GTU); Active MA student of Medical Physics Programme. Thesis: Development and Applications of Novel Diffusion MRI Biomarkers in Neurology. PIs: GTU Prof. Ketevan Kotetishvili, Jülich – Director General of neuro-medicine and medicine institute, Prof. Dr. N. J. Shah. Became MA of Physics. Currently working in Jülich from February 2018. During 2014-2017 did internship 4 times in Jülich Research Centre. It is noteworthy, that in the frames of the programme, Georgian students are supported to visit world’s leading research centre and proceed their projects in  compliance with international standards. Grant provided by foundation and Jülich gives MA and Phd students opportunity, to conduct research connected to their MA or PhD thesis, during internship and to establish long-term cooperation with scientists from Jülich centre and other German scientific centres and universities.

The Soviet Policy and Georgia in a new space (1921- 1991)

On July 20, Georgian Technical University hosted the presentation of the book “The Soviet Policy and Georgia in a new space (1921- 1991) “funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. Three monographs have been published in frames of the project, authors: 1. Avtandil Songhulashvili (Principal Investigator) – Soviet politics and Georgian national minority; 2. Shota Vadachkoria – Georgian emigration and national liberty movement (1921-1990); 3. Nato Songhulashvili- soviet regime and Georgian National idea (1921-1991). The project reviews Georgia in 1921-1991 based on various aspects. Full text is available in Georgian.

SRNSFG announces the call for the Conference Grants 2018

Title of the call: Call for the Conference Grants Call abbreviation: CG Aim of the call Aim of the call is to support international regional scientific conferences, congresses, symposia and seminars in Georgia, to share information and experience, development of scientific research, popularization of Georgian research in the international journals and scientific publications, and Georgian scientists’ integration in the modern global challenges. In frames of the grant call of 2018, targeted conferences dedicated to the 100 years anniversary of the first Georgian republic and first Georgian University can be also funded. Project proposal type:  Institutional/Group Major terms of the call Conference funded in frames of the call should be held from September 1, 2018 to September 1, 2019. As for the targeted Conference dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of the establishment of First Democratic Republic of Georgia and 100 th anniversary of establishment of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University should be held from September 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. Funding requested from the SRNSFG should not exceed 40 000 GEL per project. Amount for the conference organizers (key personnel should not exceed 5 % of the total budget of the project. Call administration timeline: August 6, 2018 – submitting the projects via electronically (e-mail); July 27, 2018, 16:00 – Group Consultation (Information day) of the call; August 8, 2018, 16:00 - submitting the application documents at SRNSFG office; August, 2018 – evaluation of submitted projects; August, 2018 – publishing the results of selected projects for funding; August-September, 2018 – Signing the grant agreement.

Results of the Grant call of 2018 of the Joint research programme on Georgian Studies of SRNSFG and the University of Oxford

Grant holders of the call for Joint research programme on Georgian Studies of SRNSFG and the University of Oxford have been selected. Overall, 9 applications have been submitted in frames of the grant call 2018. 6 applications have been submitted at the second stage of the call (interview with the evaluation commission) and  the evaluation commission has selected 3 applications for funding.  Please, find the decree of the Director General of the SRNSFG on selected projects for funding (available in Georgian).
