Newly Founded Training Center of Rustaveli Foundation - Training About Swiss Research Landscape and Funding opportunities

On January 24, 2019 ,  Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia conducted training, which was hosted by expert invited specially for this event, Representative of the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF , Mr. Tymothy Ryan. The training envisages maximum integration of Georgian scientist in scientific society of leading countries of Europe

Training was conducted in two sessions: First part was dedicated to inform Foundation administration representatives about grant calls administration in Swiss National Science Foundation and international cooperation experience. Second part was dedicated to inform Georgian scientific community about research opportunities available in Switzerland.

The Discussion topics were: Swiss participation in EU Research and Innovation framework programme “Hrizont 2020”, scientific exchange program, review of Swiss scientific and research opportunities. Audience was given the opportunity to receive information on the possibilities of funding and cooperation of Georgian scholars in Switzerland.

The aim of the Foundation’s Training Center is to promote the rising of Georgian scientific potential, developing Capacity Building of Georgian Scientists, science communication, invite field trainers from leading international organizations/scientific foundations and developing opportunities for Georgian scientists to prepare Project proposal for international scientific Programmes.

Trainings are fully funded by the SRNSFG and Georgian scientists are free to participate in it.

The information session was one of the first events that were planned and implemented as part or the  Foundation’s Training Center.
