Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation International Supervisory Board meeting

Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, LEPL Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (SRNSF) International Supervisory Board meeting took place on February 25, 2016. The Board comprises of outstanding international and Georgian scientists, as well as the representatives of the Georgian Government. The International supervisory board is headed by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Ms. Tamar Sanikidze. The ISB is a collegiate body of the foundation that gathers twice a year to discuss the activities of SRNSF carried out over 6 months, talk over strategic issues and review the relevant action plan.

The second meeting of the Board covered the following topics:  SRNSF annual report 2015, action plan and call calendar 2016, new evaluation schemes, grants’ efficacy evaluation, changes implemented in programs, prospects of international cooperation.

So called ‘big grants’ evaluation outsourcing opportunities and ‘small grant’ evaluation schemes were presented to the Board. Discussion topics also included database development related issues and internal audit’s report.
