Elsevier is the world`s largest international Publisher. ELSEVIER - Agreement between the LEPL - Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and ELSEVIER BV was concluded on 28 May 2014. The agreement was renewed in 2017. In the framework of the agreement, a consortium of 21 organizations was established and representatives of the abovementioned organizations and Georgian research community had a full access to the world’s largest International Publisher - ELSEVIER’s Databases. The consortia consisted of the state universities, 3 research centers, 1 scientific institute, Georgian National Academy of Science, Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Georgian National Museum.
The agreement was renewed again in 2019 and LEPL Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia fully funded the access on Elsevier Database for the consortia which consists of 55 members including both State and Private Universities, research centers and institutions and the representatives of the consortia have an access on Elsevier bases: Scopus; Science Direct, funding institutional (Scival funding), which gives them an opportunity to use world`s newest literature for their research and educational activities.

As a result of the agreement, representatives of consortium member organizations - students, academic-scientific and administrative staff have access to Elsevier databases (Scopus, Science Direct) with full funding from the foundation.
Additionally, the Foundation has subscribed to SciVal database which provides access to the characteristics of 23,500 research institutes and their affiliated researchers in 234 countries. SciVal is an important analytical tool for the evaluation of the scientific productivity of Georgia.
Total budget of the subscription is 432,483 euros and is fully funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
