On 12^th of July, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the German Research Foundation (DFG). The purpose of Memorandum of Understanding is to develop cooperation between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany in scientific fields, to foster cooperation between German and Georgian scientists and to increase knowledge-oriented research between scientific institutions.

In accordance with the Memorandum the parties will promote joint research and training activities by scientific partners in Germany and Georgia. The Memorandum was signed by Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Professor, Dr. Erekle Astakhishvili, and the General Secretary of the German Research Foundation, Dr. Heide Ahrens.
