International conference supported by the Rustaveli Foundation

 

The international conference “Perception of Caucasus in Myths and Literature from Antiquity till Contemporaneity” was opened in Tbilisi at the Ivane Javakhishvili  Tbilisi State University. The three-day conference is financed within the framework Rustaveli National Science Foundation Grant  Call  for Mobility and International Scientific Events.  About 70 speakers from 20  countries participates in the conference.

Teimuraz Dochviri, the Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, extended a warm welcome to the assembly of Georgian and international scientists gathered at Tbilisi State University and noted: „the Rustaveli Foundation, with support of  the Ministry of Education and Science, has been, is, and will continue to undertake significant projects, that aim to strengthen the country as a whole, enhances awareness in Georgian society, and helps Georgia gain recognition in the global science community. This event is a clear testament to our success, as demonstrated by the significant interest and support from nearly 20 countries worldwide. It confirms that our chosen path has yielded positive results, and therefore, we will persist in supporting the active participation of young people in scientific endeavors in the future. On behalf of the foundation, I extend my congratulations on the conference's opening and wish you all success”. Organizers  of the conference are The Institute of Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgia) and Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany).
