Meeting with the Ambassador of Austria to Georgia
On July 3, The Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Georgia, H.E Arad Benkö. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of SRNSFG.
The discussion was dedicated to establishing and deepening relations between Georgian and Austrian science foundations (FWF), which unifies numerous research institutes and significantly promotes increasing scientific potential on European Level, via signing the Memorandum of Understanding and resulting the cooperation in implementation of joint projects.
As part of the meeting, Mr. Zviad Gabisonia reviewed ,,Twinning Fiche”, where the foundation is the beneficiary organization and actively collaborates with the involved Austrian organizations. Alongside with the German and Latvian organizations, Austria is well represented in project implementation consortium, with several institutions. The project aims to promote inter – sectoral collaboration between research and industry and research commercialization. H.E Ambassador expressed interest towards the main scope of activities of the foundation and on behalf of the embassy, he disposed his readiness of supporting in the process of initiating communication between Austrian and Georgian scientific communities. He also underlined the importance of possible collaboration perspectives between SRNSFG and ÖAD – Austrian agency for international mobility and cooperation in education, science and research.
