“Supporting inter-sectoral collaboration possibilities

between Research and Industry”

is seeking to recruit:

1) Administrative RTA Assistant

2) Language RTA Assistant

We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and organized persons to become a member of a project team working on a European Union funded Twinning Project in Georgia. The project will be based in Tbilisi and will work with colleagues from Georgia, Austria, Germany, Latvia and experts from EU countries.

Duration of the contract: indicative date for start of the assignment is April, 2020 and until 31 March 2022.

Administrative RTA Assistant

The role:

  • To support the RTA in terms of administrative assistance, office management, correspondence, record keeping and filing, bookkeeping and accounting;
  • Draft written materials in relation to the project in Georgian/English languages;
  • To support short term experts (STEs) visiting Georgia in the execution of their responsibilities and tasks to deliver the project objectives, including the preparation of the documents needed in support of their missions;
  • To organise expert missions, events, workshops, meetings, study visits and other project activities;
  • To support the overall coordination of the project;
  • To support the project’s visibility and media activities, creation and managing of the project accounts on Facebook and Twitter;
  • To manage a local level budget and keep a record of the appropriate receipts;
  • To prepare project documentation including papers, presentations, training materials and promotional material and demonstrate a good level of general administrative skills;
  • Prospective translations and interpretations in case of replacing or supporting Language RTA Assistant;
  • Flexibility regarding working hours;
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the realization and management of the project.

Essential skills:

  • University degree, preferably in the field of Public Administration, or at least three years of professional experience in the relevant field/sector;
  • Professional fluency in English and Georgian both oral and written. Knowledge of German is an asset;
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills;
  • Experience in managing an office;
  • Computer literate, in particular a good working knowledge of current Microsoft Office packages with specific attention to Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Translation and interpreting skills;
  • Ability to work using videoconferencing technologies;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations and to work in a team;
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts;
  • High degree of independence, strong own initiative and flexibility, discretion and professionalism;
  • Flexibility regarding working hours;
  • Talent to efficiently manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong intercultural and social competences.

Desirable skills:

  • Previous experience of working on Twinning or similar EU or international projects.

Language RTA Assistant

The Role:

–     To support the Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA), Project Leader (PL) and Short-Term Experts (STEs) in all language-related issues during the project;

–     To provide in-house interpretation services for the RTA, PL and STEs at formal and informal meetings (consecutive, simultaneous, chuchotage; English-Georgian and vice versa);

–     To provide interpretation services at formal and informal meetings of the project during study tours (consecutive, simultaneous, chuchotage; English-Georgian and vice versa);

–     To provide in-house translation services for legal and operational documentation on behalf of the RTA, PL and STEs (English-Georgian and vice versa);

–     To provide translations of official papers of the RTA, PL and STEs, where so required (English-Georgian and vice versa);

–     To draw up and manage bilingual project terminology;

–     To translate project documents, (legal) texts, regulations, training materials, information material, reports and other written material from English to Georgian language and vice versa whenever needed;

–     To support the RTA, PL and STEs in organisational tasks within the project;

  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the realization and management of the project

Essential skills

  • University degree, preferably in Translation and Interpreting;
  • Work experience in translation and/ or interpretation activities at least three years;
  • Professional fluency in English and Georgian both oral and written. Knowledge of German is an asset;
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills;
  • Computer literate, in particular a good working knowledge of current Microsoft Office packages with specific attention to Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to work using videoconferencing technologies
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations and to work in a team and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts;
  • High degree of independence, strong own initiative and flexibility, discretion and professionalism;
  • Talent to efficiently manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong intercultural and social competences.

Desirable skills

–     Previous experience of working on Twinning or similar EU or international projects;

–     Practical experience in simultaneous interpretation will be an asset;

–     Familiarity with CAT tools (including terminology management) would be an asset.

  • The RTA Assistant may not have or recently (past six months) have had any contractual relation with the beneficiary administration.
