Conference “Women in Innovation”
On 17th of June, in frames of European Union research and innovation framework programme Horizon 2020 project "CALIPER"s closing conference "Women in Innovation" was organized by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The purpose of the conference was to present the activities of women scientists and innovators representing the STEM direction. Successful women in scientific fields shared their experience to raise motivation and promote the active involvement of women scientists in research, also to raise public awareness of gender equality.
Professor, Dr. Erekle Astakhishvili, Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Mariam Lashkhi, a Member of the Gender Equality Council of the Parliament, Professor Zaza Maruashvili, Deputy Head of the Science Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Jaba Samushia, Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tamar Sabedashvili, Deputy Representative of UN Women, Professor Nino Okribelashvili, Deputy Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tamar Tskhadadze, Associate Professor of Ilia State University welcomed the audience. Rusudan Jobava, Head of the International Relations and Fundraising Office at Rustaveli Foundation, made a presentation about the “CALIPER” project.
