On June 16, The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia held the business meeting „EURAXESS“ Engagement - New step towards integration to European Scientific Platform. Speech and presentation were delivered by Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil BATIASHVILI and Director General of The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (SRNSFG) Prof. Zviad GABISONIA. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil BATIASHVILI mentioned that presentation covers important issue like great international success of Georgian science.

Georgia has been invited to become a member of EURAXESS - European Innovation and Science Organization, which is EUs one of the most authoritative organization, this actually means integration of the Georgian science into the EUs space. Minister thanks to Director General of SRNSFG for his intensive and focused work and sole dedication to this job.

Minister said that this event officially will be agreed in September at Brussels when Declaration of Commitment will be signed,

“It is also a important and honorable that Georgian scientists, according to the world's largest scientific basis The Web of Science, have the highest index of citation among the post-Soviet countries, which can be reckoned as an international success of Georgian science, "Mikheil Batiashvili said.

Professor Gabisonia talked about EURAXESS, its goals, innovative research importance, opportunities as an platform of multinational organization and mentioned that inclusion in this international program gives the country huge scientific potential.   

We started to work on this project at October 2018 and reached the goal in a short period of time. This step is new and wide opportunity and challenge to Georgian science, for its development towards highest EU standards.  Engagement to EURAXESS” will give to our scientists access to more than 15000 EU universities, and other research bodies, more than 500 international and national grants, businesses. Thus we are now at the Champion’s league of science; Moreover, Georgian scientists, according to the world's largest scientific basis The Web of Science, are leaders by the highest index of citation among the post-Soviet countries. This achievement can be translated as a result of new state policy in the field of education and science, oriented towards radical changes. It must be mentioned that one of the requests for grant winner scholars is to be published in high-ranking scientific journals, mentioned Professor GABISONIA.
