Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia is participating in ISTC and STCU governing council meetings

On November 19-21, Director General – Prof. Zviad Gabisonia and Deputy Director General – Jaba Samushia was attending ISTC (International Science and Technology Center) and STCU (Science and Technology Center in Ukraine) Governing Council meetings in Yerevan, Armenia.

On meeting, current and future activities of the organizations, projects and initiatives, strategy for the upcoming years and project financing issues have been discussed. Director General of Rustaveli Foundation presented foundations’ multilateral activities, spoke about its priorities, calls and programmes, their funding model, internationalization of science - bilateral and multilateral international programs, active integration into the European scientific area – EURAXESS and EuroScience accession, new phase of realtions with ESF and other international organizations, planned different important international projects regarding this field.

International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) was established in 1992 as an intergovernmental organization. Georgia joined ISTC in 1994. ISTC is one of Georgia's leading science support organizations, which has funded over 160 research projects with a total budget of up to $ 32 million.

Georgia became member of Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) in 1998. Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and Science Technology Center in Ukraine are holding joint grant calls based the agreement between them.
