Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia hosted the representatives of the German Research Foundation (DFG), General Secretary Dr. Heide Ahrens and Head of Division "International Cooperation", Dr. Jörg Schneider. The Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Professor, Dr. Erekle Astakhishvili, introduced the German colleagues the main activities of the foundation and its structural divisions.

Furthermore, counterparts discussed the existing schemes of management, financing and monitoring of the state scientific calls and programmes administered by the foundation. In addition, bilateral and multilateral international programs, as well as the future plans of the foundation were discussed at the meeting.

Aim of the visit was to deepen the cooperation between the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and the German Research Foundation in frames of promoting knowledge-oriented research, implementing joint research projects In accordance with the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the abovementioned sides.
