Presentation of scientific results - "Natural zeolites in the adsorption process of wastewater purification from antibiotics”

On December 6, at Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University’s Petre Melikishvili Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry presentation of the results of fundamental research grant call "Natural zeolites in the adsorption process of wastewater purification from antibiotics” was held.

The lecture - seminar was attended by the Institute's Administration: Director - Ketevan Ebralidze, Head of the Scientific Council - Vladimir Tsitsishvili, Academic Secretary - Manana Burjanadze, Staff of laboratory of Physio-chemical Process Research and the key personal of the grant. The presentation was led by Nino Pirtskhalava.

The speaker noted that all the tasks set forth in the project were fulfilled. On the basis of results of the project work, an effective laboratory adsorption method for purifying wastewater from antibiotics was developed and sorbents have been obtained. In the research carried out within the project a new complex approach has been developed, in particular, the creation of effective sorbents based on natural materials and their modified forms and their sorption ability using adsorption and chromatographic methods of analysis. It should be noted that the project has consolidated scientific teams of highly qualified researchers working in adsorption, chromatographic, chemical, spectral and X-ray analysis, which is capable of carrying out many other innovative researches.

Speaches: Academician Vladimir Tsitsishvili, Doctor of Chemistry Giorgi Tsintskaladze, Doctor of Chemistry Nanuli Dolaberidze, Director of the Institute, Doctor of Chemistry Ketevan Ebralidze. It was noted that the project was conducted at a high scientific level and developed methodology can also find practical application in the field of environmental protection.
