Objectives of a Joint Program of SRNSF and University of Oxford are to support development of modern interdisciplinary scientific researches in the field of Georgian Studies and the research popularization abroad; to attract young researchers and increase their scientific potential; to disseminate modern research results in the international academic networks (in Georgian history, culture, writing, languages and literature, archeology and arts, religion, socio-economic and political transformation); to create Georgian and regional studies collaborative networks and consortia promoting multilateral and sustainable international cooperation.

Overall, 13 proposals were submitted at the Call of 2016. The joint evaluation committee of Oxford University and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation interviewed 7 applicants (who have passed the second stage evaluation). Based on the results of the personal interviews, the committee selected 2 projects for funding:

Applicants must submit hard copies of the documentation (as stated in the decree of SRNSF Director General) at the foundation office no later than August 1, 2016, 18:00.

The winner applicants, with the status of ‘Visiting Georgian Scholar’ will be funded for visiting attachment to the Oxford University’s School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies (http://www.area-studies.ox.ac.uk/), Russian and East European Studies Unit (http://www.rees.ox.ac.uk) for periods of 12 months. The visiting scholars will conduct researches with the support of highly qualified mentors appointed by the University of Oxford.
