Results of the 2023 state scientific grant call for fundamental research
The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia announces the results of the 2023 call for the 2023 state scientific grants competition for Fundamental Research, with 463 project proposals initially registered for the Call, and 439 proposals proceeded to the evaluation stage after the eligibility check.
The evaluation of the project proposals that passed the evaluation stage was carried out by the European Science Foundation (European Science Foundation – Science Connect, ESF-SC) in 3 stages, which meant:
- Initial assessment of each project by two independent experts;
- The Principal Investigators response to the initial assessment (so-called Rebuttal);
- Panel evaluation of each project proposal by groups of experts taking into account the initial evaluation and the feedback of the Principal Investigator.
Based on the final consensus assessment provided by the expert groups (panels), the ranking lists were prepared and the winners were revealed by the "Rules for calculating the final score and financing of the projects registered in the 2023 state scientific grants call for Fundamental Research" approved by Annex 13 of the order of the General Director of the Foundation dated February 10, 2023 N 17. 112 projects were selected for funding.
