International Day of Women and Girls in Science
February 11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. In connection with this date, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Alexandre Tsuladze, awarded 10 successful women scientists and schoolgirl-inventors. Alexandre Tsuladze congratulated the audience on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and, in his speech, emphasized the role of women scientists in the development of science. Along with the Minister, the honorary awards were presented to the scientists by Teimuraz Dochviri, the General Director of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. During the event, the attendees were also addressed by the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Nino Tsilosani, the Minister of Culture of Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze, and the President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Roin Metreveli. The event was also attended by the First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Modebadze; Deputies - Ana Mghbrishvili, Giorgi Jincharadze, Tamar Makharashvili, Baia Kvitsiani, and Tamar Gvamichava; representatives of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, and other invited guests.
