Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia announces 2025 Black Sea and Coastal Region Research Grant Call – "Blue Development of the Black Sea."

Call Abbreviation: BS

 

Goal of the Call:

  1. a) To create new knowledge, the theoretical and experimental study and analysis of new ideas and concepts, phenomena and facts, theories and models, which in the long-term will contribute to the development of research on the Black Sea and coastal region in the country, as well as to social-political, economic, societal, cultural, and information-technology progress;
  2. b) To achieve the goals outlined in the Black Sea Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA);
  3. c) To develop research on the Black Sea and coastal region and disseminate the results of conducted research;
  4. d) To share experiences between different generations of researchers and strengthen local scientific potential;
  5. e) To encourage international scientific cooperation;
  6. f) To attract young researchers to Black Sea and coastal region studies;
  7. g) To increase opportunities for publishing scientific works in international journals and scientific collections.

 

Call Administration Schedule:

  • Electronic project registration in GMUS – from March 28, 2025, to May 28, 2025, until 16:00;
  • Submission of participation applications to the foundation’s chancellery – by June 2, 2025, until 17:00;

  • Letter of Agreement/Descriptive Information on the Involvement of Scientific Groups/Teams from Black Sea Region Countries in Joint Scientific Research – in Georgian and English (Annex 9, to be uploaded to GMUS as a PDF document);
  • Application for participation in the call (Annex 10) – generated in GMUS;
  • Budget Classifier (Annex 11).
