Deputy Minister Nunu Mitskevich awarded the winners of “Leonardo Da Vinci” Grant Call

 

With the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the closing event of the 2022 "Leonardo da Vinci" call for student - inventors and researchers of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia was held. An Exhibition of the participants' works and awarding ceremony were assembled. At the event, the authors of the projects that passed the final stage of the competition presented to the commission and the winners of the grand prize, first, second and third places were announced.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nunu Mitskevich, congratulated the finalists on their conquest, wished them success in their future work and awarded gifts to the winning students. According to the deputy minister, the Grant Call "Leonardo da Vinci" helps popularize science among youth and evokes their interest in innovations and techniques.

 Grand prize winners were the student of G.Zaldastanishvili American Academy - Mariam Ghurchumelia, a 9th-grade student of Gori N4 public school - Anna Dimitriadis, and 9th grade student of Martvili private school "Skhivi" -  Luka Tsotsoria by presenting the project "Smart Consultant"; 1st place: students of the 8th grade of Batumi Georgian-American School "Progress", 11th grade of Cervantes Gymnasium "Aia-Gess" and 9th grade of Kutaisi Georgian-American School "Progress": Nia Rokhvadze, Sergi Begiashvili and Davit Churkveidze took the place with the project "Smart Wine-mixer"; The 2nd place winners were Mariam Saghirashvili and Mariam Gogilashvili, 11th grade students of Cervantes Gymnasium "Aia-Gess" and Tamaz Mukhadze, 11th grade student of  "IAPM" International Lyceum by presenting the project "Technology of making heat-resistant material from local diatomite"; The 11th grade student of "IGS-International Georgian School" Nikoloz Dvali, 10th grade student of "Contemporary Education Academy-CEA" Erekle Jamrulidze and 12th grade student of "Newton Free School" Ana Mkervalishvili won the 3rd place by presenting the project "Air sterilizer established on Peltier elements".

Also, the following representatives took a part in the award ceremony: the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia - "Sakpatenti", TBC Bank, "G3D - the first Georgian 3D printer", Mtatsminda Park, and Sulakauri Publishing House, which awarded the successful participants of the competition with special prizes.

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia's Grant Calls for Young Inventors "Leonardo da Vinci" is held annually, in which the participants can be students of VII-XII grades of public and private schools.
