Online Conference ,,Science and Business Cooperation”

On November 27, with the aim at the synergy of European Projects as part of the Twinning Project ,,Supporting  Inter – Sectoral Collaboration Possibilities Between Research and Industry”, an online meeting was held, which aimed at stimulating Science and Business collaboration. The meeting was organized in the synergy of EU R&I framework Programme ,,Horizon 2020’’ MSCA ,,European Researchers Night’’ project ,,Captain – Science is the  Captain”.

 The first meeting of the action – joint effort in the frames of the project ,, Captain - Science is the Captain”, focuses on strengthening science – business links, developing and elaborating legal science regulations and framework, deepening international cooperation and science communication. The project ,, Captain - Science is the Captian” is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. LEPL – Shota Rustaveli national Science foundation of Georgia is the beneficiary organization of the project.

 The meeting participants were presented the speech of Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Ms. Nunu Mitskevich, who outlined the importance of international cooperation regarding the Georgian science development and numerous activities implemented, considering the pandemic.

 The meeting was participated by the Director General of SRNSFG and project leader from Georgia – Mr. Jaba Samushia, the representative of EU mission in Georgia and project leader – Mr. Wolfgang Polt (Austria), Director of the EU Assistance Coordination and Sectoral Integration Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia – Mr. David Bujiashvili,  Deputy head of the European Integration Department, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure – Mr. David Kalatozishvili, Twinning project resident adviser (RTA) Ms. Inese Gavarane, international experts of the project and the head of SRNSFG international relations and fundraising office – Ms. Rusudan Jobava. As part of the meeting, project implementation consortium (German – Austrian – Latvian organizations) discussed about planned activities and reviewed following topics: Georgia on the map of European Researchers Night, science communication, the importance of scientific collaboration for Georgia, “Smart specialization in Imereti region” etc.

The meeting was moderated by representatives of SRNSFG international relations and fundraising office – Mr. Levan Tlashadze and Giorgi Tsotsoria.
