Rustaveli Foundation hosted representatives of the European Organization for Nuclear Research
The Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Teimuraz Dochviri, hosted the famous physicist, the leader of the CMS project team of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Professor Tiziano Camporesi, the famous physicist, the Georgian scientist working at CERN - the leader of the Georgian group of the CMS experiment, Professor Zviad Tsamalaidze, and, also, the member of the same team, Irakli Lomidze, a senior researcher at the Institute of Quantum Physics and Engineering Technologies of the Technical University of Georgia.
During the meeting new opportunities for cooperation were discussed. In 2025, an agreement is planned to be signed between the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Rustaveli Foundation which will grant young Georgian scientists, working in engineering and applied physics, biomedicine, and other fields, the opportunity to conduct research in the world's foremost research centers and laboratories at CERN. The parties discussed the need to deepen the partnership between scientists from both countries and to implement joint research, outlining plans for future collaboration.
