Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia Participated in ISTC Governing Board Meeting
The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) convened its 76th Governing Board (GB) in a hybrid format in Oslo, Norway. Professor, Dr. Erekle Astakhishvili, Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia participated in the 76th meeting, which was preceded by strategic discussions to the prior day to guide the future direction of the ISTC.
Furthermore, participants has discussed the current and future projects and initiatives of the organization, the action strategy of the coming years and project/programme financing issues.
Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and The Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to deepen relations in the field of science, technology and innovation, implement joint research projects, support exchange programs, foster close cooperation within the framework of EU programmes.
The Memorandum was signed by Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Professor, Dr. Erekle Astakhishvili, and the chairman of The Science Committee of Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Sargis Hayotsyan.
The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) was established by the 1992 Agreement as an intergovernmental organization. Georgia joined ISTC in 1994.
