Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia Met with a Representative of Japan’s High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK)
The Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Teimuraz Dochviri, held a working meeting with Professor Satoshi Mihara of the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), Japan, and representatives of the Georgian Technical University.
During the meeting, the participants discussed opportunities to strengthen scientific cooperation between Georgia and Japan. They also discussed prospects for increasing the involvement of Georgian scientists in KEK’s research activities and the COMET experiment. In addition, they discussed opportunities to support the international mobility and professional development of young researchers.
Teimuraz Dochviri emphasized the importance of supporting young scientists and noted that the Foundation is ready to support the development of international cooperation that will enable Georgian researchers to gain international experience, develop professional skills, and apply the knowledge they acquire to the scientific and technological development of Georgia.
According to Professor Satoshi Mihara, a group of Georgian scientists is successfully working at KEK and is actively involved in the COMET experiment.
The meeting was attended by the following representatives of the Georgian Technical University:
- Tamar Lominadze - Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University;
- Zviad Tsamalaidze- Director of the Institute of Quantum Physics and Engineering Technologies at the Georgian Technical University and leader of the university’s group of scientists at CERN and KEK;
- Irakli Lomidze - Representative of the Georgian Technical University and leader of the SHiP experiment.
