“Soviet Utopian Theories and First Textbooks of General Linguistics”
On May 29, 2018, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosted the three book presentations, published in frame of the fundamental research grant “Soviet Utopian Theories and First Textbooks of General Linguistics” funded by LEPL- Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
Prof Tinatin Bolkvadze- author of the book titled “The tringle of soviet linguistics: Niko Marr; I. Stalin, Arnord Chokobava” mentioned that the book contains utopian theories and first textbooks of the linguistics created during the soviet time. The books contain materials from the Soviet archives of the linguistics and unifies historical background and confrontation during that time”.
“Giorgi Akhvlediani’s publication titled “Introduction to linguistics 1918-1919” was also published in frame of the funded project as well as the book “History of the Soviet linguistics: archival materials”.
