Project "Science is the Captain"

 

In order to promote the development of science, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia is launching the "Science is the Captain" project, the winner of the "European Researchers’Night" call of the EU Horizon 2020 program "Marie Sklodowskaia-Curie".

With this project, Georgia joins the European Festival "European Researchers’ Night", in which 30 countries associated with the European Union and "Horizon 2020" participate. On November 27-28, 2020, the main events of the project "Science is the Captain", large-scale, multidisciplinary, cognitive, fun, cultural, sport activities will be held remotely in Tbilisi, Telavi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Akhaltsikhe and Zugdidi.For the first time in history, Georgia will appear in synchronous regime on the map of ongoing festival events across EU member states and Horizon 2020 associated countries, which will be posted on the festival's “European Researchers’ Night” special website.

"Science is the Captain" aims to present science as a part of the daily life of all layers of society and to popularize science in the wider society of Georgia.

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, scientific-research institutions, universities, Writers' House, as well as persons working in the field of science, education, culture and sport are involved in the implementation of the project.
