Remarkable Success of the Georgian national team at the International Informatics Olympiad

 

During the 35th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2023), which took place this year in Szeged, Hungary, the Georgian national team achieved remarkable results, won one silver and three bronze medals. Among the outstanding achievers were Tarash Dolaberidze, a student at Andria Razmadze Public School of Physics and Mathematics in Kutaisi N41, who won a silver medal. Additionally, Luka Meladze, Luka Mosiashvili, and Irakli Sulamanidze also received bronze medals for their exceptional performances. It's worth noting that all four of these talented individuals are beneficiaries of the information technology training center "Mziuri."

The selection and participation of Georgia's national teams in international educational Olympiads are organized through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and by the administration of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.

The leader of the team is Giorgi Mandaria, co-leader - Bakar Gamezardashvili, assistant - Vakhtang Shekishvili, serves as the assistant teacher - Guram Kotolashvili. This year, the Georgian national team was composed  of students who went to the third round of the National Olympiad. They passed two additional qualifying rounds, and the composition of the national team and reserve team was determined based on the sum of points accumulated in both rounds.
