The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia announces the 2025 Grant Call for the Joint Scientific Research Fellowship, organized in collaboration with the French-Georgian University.
Abbreviation of the Call: UFG
Objective of the Call:
- To deepen university and scientific cooperation between Georgia and France;
- To support the joint participation of Georgian and French institutions in international scientific research projects and promote the career development of PhD students from Georgian higher education institutions through short-term scientific research fellowships.
Type of Project Application: Individual
Key Conditions of the Call:
- The duration of the research visit must be 2 months.
- The Foundation and the University will jointly select and support three PhD students for a research visit to France.
- The project must include a host institution in France, where the visiting researcher will carry out academic and research activities.
- The host university is responsible for assigning an appropriate mentor in the relevant scientific field.
- The fellowship will be co-funded by the Foundation and the University.
- The grant amount per selected researcher is €2,100 or its equivalent in GEL.
- The grant will cover accommodation, round-trip airfare, and other research-related expenses.
The project registration process consists of two stages:
- Online Registration – from April 27 to 22 May 2026, 16:00 (Tbilisi time) via the Grants Management Unified System: gmus.rustaveli.org.ge
- Submission of Printed Documents – Submission of the signed “Application for Participation in the Grant Call” to the Foundation's Chancellery by June 2, 2026, 17:00 (Tbilisi time).
