On February 21, with the initiative of the French Ambassador to Georgia, at the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, a meeting was held between the Director General of the Foundation Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Director General Nino Gachechiladze and representatives of the French Embassy. From the French side, the meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Georgia Diego Colas, Director of the French Institute of Georgia Pierre Clue, Attaché of University and Scientific Cooperation Eleanor Garnier and Executive Manager of the French-Georgian University David Tertri.

At the meeting the sides discussed the prospects of developing existing and future cooperation. During the meeting, the importance and necessity of supporting the cooperation of French and Georgian researchers in scientific research were clearly emphasized, which would promote the career development of young researchers. At the end of the meeting, Director General of the Foundation Zviad Gabisonia presented to the Ambassador of France the initiative of the Rustaveli Foundation for the creation of the Rustaveli Kartvelological Network and spoke about the importance of supporting the French Embassy in opening a similar cabinet in France. The Ambassador pledged his full support to the Director General of the Foundation and reaffirmed his readiness to expand bilateral cooperation.
