SRNSFG disseminates information on nomination of Georgian candidate for John W. Kluge Prize

John W. Kluge Prize for Achievement in the Study of Humanity, awarded every 2 years by the US Library of Congress, is given to one scientist worldwide from the field of humanities, who has had great impact on the history and development of humankind.

For the competition 2017, for the first time in Georgia, SRNSFG nominated Dr. David Lordkipanidze, Georgian paleoanthropoligst and archaeologist, Director General of the Georgian National Museum, successful grantee of the Foundation and alumni of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

Dr. David Lordkipanidze has implemented research, which revolutionized existing knowledge about early human development and migration. He has led the research findings on the excavation of 1.8 million-year-old skeletal remains of early hominids in Dmanisi, Georgia.

Dr. David Lordkipanidze is the author of numerous scientific publications. His research is published in such prestigious journals as Science and Nature.
