,,Study and protection of Colhic Forest Genetic Resources“- the three-year project was finished, which has been financed in the frame of State Grants for Fundamental Research 2014. For the first time, in the framework of project inventory of rare and endangered woody species spread in the Adjara region was carried out according to the traditional and modern methods. The data base was established, maps of habitats and web-site (www.forestgenresources.ge) were prepared in two languages: in Georgian and in English.

In the process of the research 5 district of high conservation value were revealed and recommendations according to IUCN were prepared to correct The Red List of Georgia.

On the basis of the research information about rare and endangered woody species has been updated. These plants are very important, because they are relict and endemic species of Colhic forest and at the same time they represent the unique elements of biodiversity.
