Award Ceremony for the "Leonardo da Vinci" Student Inventors and Researchers Call
The award ceremony for the winners of the 2025 “Leonardo da Vinci” Student Inventors and Researchers Call, organized by the LEPL Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
The “Leonardo da Vinci” Student Inventors and Researchers Call was held for the fifteenth time this year, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia and the administration of the Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
The participants of the event were addressed with welcome speeches by Jaba Samushia- Rector of the host organization, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Givi Mikanadze - Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Mariam Lashkhi - Chair of the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Zviad Gabisonia - Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia; and Teimuraz Dochviri, Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
The Grand Prix was awarded to the authors of the project “Smart Table-Organizer for the the Blind“. First place was taken by the team that developed the project “ Real-time structural deformation monitoring system”. Second and third places were awarded to the students participating in the projects “Synthesis of Natural Phenolic Compounds Modified with Amino Acids and Study of Their Biological Activity” and “The role of peroxidase as an eco - enzyme in the remediation of dye-contaminated water”.
Call Certificates and prizes were presented to the Grand Prix and first-place winners by Givi Mikanadze, Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, and Teimuraz Dochviri, Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. The second and third-place teams were awarded by Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, and Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia.
Successful participants of the Call were also awarded with special prizes established by various organizations and companies - the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia - Sakpatenti, the Georgian Aviation University, Mtatsminda Park, the “Libra” bookstore chain, and the Georgian National Museum. Members of the winning teams received gift packages from “Badagi”, a producer of traditional Georgian products, and the “Aversi”Charitable Fund. Also, every participant of the Call received “Libra” bookstore vouchers and a three-month pass to the educational programs of the Union of Tbilisi Municipal Museums from the Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
