Rustaveli Foundation Director General Meets with Scientists from the European Organization for Nuclear Research

 

The Director  - General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Teimuraz Dochviri held a meeting with Professor Tiziano Comporesi of Boston University and the current Spokesperson for the SHIP experiment, Professor Andrei Golutvin of Imperial College.

The meeting discussed prospects for deepening cooperation between Georgia and CERN.

It was noted that, based on the partnership between the Rustaveli Foundation and CERN, young scientists, students, and engineers in the fields of physics and applied sciences will have the opportunity to conduct research in CERN laboratories.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of deepening partnerships between scientists and implementing joint research, which will contribute to the development of scientific cooperation between Georgia and Switzerland.

The meeting was also attended by Georgian scientists participating in the CERN collaboration: Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Laminadze, member of the Georgian group of the CMS collaboration, Irakli Lomidze, and Director of the Nuclear Engineering Center at GTU, National Academy of Sciences of Georgia scholarship recipient, and Deputy Group Leader of the CERN/SHIP experiment at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Besik Kekelia.
