The seasonal school "Chemical and Mathematical Aspects of Environmental (atmosphere) Monitoring" was open at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU)
On September 11, 2016, the seasonal school “Chemical and Mathematical Aspects of Environmental (atmosphere) Monitoring” was opened at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU). Participants where welcomed by school chair Academician Bezhan Chankvetadze, Deputy rector of TSU Professor Joseph Salukvadze, First Deputy Minister of Environmental and Natural Resources Protection Dr. Teimuraz Murgulia, Deputy Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Professor Tinatin Bochorishvili, head of National Environmental Agency Mrs. Tamar Bagratia, Dean of the San-Diego State University-Georgia Professor Kenneth Walsh, Director of Juelich Research Center’s (Germany) Institute of Energy and Climate Research Professor Andreas Wahner and the Dean of the Faculty of the Exact and Natural Sciences of TSU, Professor Ramaz Khomeriki. More than 60 registered participants from TSU, Sokhumi State University, Agricultural University, Georgian Technical University, National Environmental Agency and other institutions take part in the school. The school activities continue in this week and lectures will be given by professors of Jülich Research Center, University of Cologne (Germany), San Diego State University (USA) and TSU. On the last day of the schools the participants will have the opportunity of presenting short presentations based on the knowledge acquired during the school and the best two presenters will be selected from TSU-participants for internship at Jülich Research Center.
