2nd International School: Autumn Lectures in Tbilisi - Nuclear Physics in Medicine

In 2015, a joint scientific and educational competition Foundation  Shota Rustaveli and Research Center Jülich in Germany, won the project N SS_15_2_002 entitled "2nd International School: Autumn Lectures in Tbilisi - Nuclear Physics in Medicine", led by Professor of the Georgian Technical University, Ketevan Kotetishvili.

On October 4-14, at GTU Department of Physics organized “Autumn Lectures in Tbilisi-2”, within the scope of agreement signed between GTU and Julich Scientific-Research Center (Germany). 
The lectures and practical works within “Autumn Lectures in Tbilisi-2” covered Nuclear Physics and Medical Physics
The lectures were delivered by Professors of Cologne, Aachen and Bonn Universities (Germany), including Director of Julich Scientific-Research Center, Prof. Sebastian Shmidt, Director of Institute  Nuclear Physics  (IKP) Prof. Hans Stroeher, Director of Institute Neuroscience and Medicine  (INM) ,Prof. Nadim Jon Shah, Director Central Institute for Engineering, Electronics and Analytics (ZEA) Prof.Ghaleb Natour, Prof. Detlev Gotta (IKP). DR.Andro Kacharava  (IKP) Dr.Irakli Keshelashvili (IKP), Prof.Farida Grinberg (INM),Dr. Jorg Wolters (ZEA), Prof. Diter Evershei  (Bonn University).

The representatives of  the target groups are PhD students, Masters students, Bachelors  and high achievers school groups who were interested in nuclear physics and medical physics issues. Lectures consist of theoretical and practical exercises it.
The importance was drawn towards the usage of nuclear  physics in medicine  and on the recent research made in Julich Scientific-Research Center . Six students were selected for the participation in the internship programme in Julich Scientific-Research Center ,this will encourage the integration of Georgian students into the international science research centers.
