National Workshop in Telavi under the ETHICS Project
On 23–24 June 2025, a national workshop (seminar) was held in Telavi, Georgia, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project ETHICS – "Responsible Conduct of Research: Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities." The event was hosted by Telavi State University, which welcomed the project consortium members.
The main objective of the workshop was to strengthen institutional frameworks for research ethics and research integrity. The two-day programme provided a platform for partner universities to exchange practical experience, discuss institutional regulations, and jointly develop sustainable academic support structures.
The workshop focused on the following objectives:
- aligning university ethics regulations with international best practices;
- strengthening the capacity of Research Ethics Committees (RECs);
- developing institution-specific academic support services tailored to the needs of individual universities;
- jointly developing strategies and action plans for the sustainable and systematic integration of research ethics into institutional practices.
On behalf of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (SRNSFG), the workshop was attended by Tinatin Kuchukhidze, Specialist at the International Relations and Fundraising Service and the project coordinator.
The aim of the national structural reform project ‘Responsible Conduct of Research - Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities (ETHICS)’ is to launch a systemic improvement intervention to improve the quality of University and Research-Performing Organizations (RPOs) research through launching measures to adhere to the foundations of high-quality research and excellence.
ETHICS Consortium is composed by 17 Members.
