Joint Call of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR)

 

Call Abbreviation: CNR

Aim of the Call:
The aim of the call is to strengthen collaboration between scientists and research centers of Georgia and Italy and to support collaboration and mobility of researchers from the two countries.

Joint projects will be equally funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (SRNSFG) and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). CNR will fund the Italian researchers, while the Foundation will fund their partners from Georgia. Project proposals prepared in accordance with the requirements should be submitted by Georgian researchers to the Foundation, while Italian researchers submit their applications to the National Research Council of Italy.

The implementation of the selected projects should begin in January 2027.

Call Administration Timeline

Registration of projects in the Grants Management Unified System (GMUS) will be available from April 1, 2026, until May 28, 2026, 16:00 (GMT +4).

The deadline for submitting the application to the Foundation’s Chancellery is May 29, 2026, 17:00 (GMT +4).

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

 

Applicants should follow the attached documents when preparing the application for the joint call:

  • Terms of the Call - Annex 1

 

Annexes and materials required for preparing the project to be submitted in the Grants Management Unified System (GMUS):

  1. a) General information about the project in Georgian and English (Annex 2 - completed in GMUS during project registration);
  2. b) Project Abstract in Georgian and English (Annex 3 - uploaded in GMUS as a PDF document);
  3. c) Project Proposal in Georgian and English (Annex 4 - uploaded in GMUS as a PDF document);
  4. d) Project implementation time-frame (Annex 5 - completed in GMUS);
  5. e) Project budget (Annex 6 - completed in GMUS);
  6. f) Professional biography (CV) of project participants in Georgian and English (generated from the GMUS profile and uploaded in GMUS during project registration as a PDF document) (Annex 7);
  7. g) Letter of consent from the partner organization (if applicable) confirming participation in the project, signed and accompanied by its Georgian translation certified by a Translation Bureau (uploaded in GMUS as a PDF document);
  8. h) Documents confirming the academic degree of individuals involved in the project as key personnel (uploaded in the “Education” field of the researcher’s GMUS profile).
